  1. Hey,
Unfortunately, my laptop does not support Petrel simulations to run. Could I access the reservoir model and import it in CMG to do my further studies?

    Kind Regards,
    Mohammed

  2. I have the data downloaded but when I open it on my PC it’s just a bunch of text files. Is there a proper portal or program I need to view the data? EQUINOR website won’t let me create a B2C account on the Volve portal.

    1. Can you explain the error you se when you try to create a B2C account? I wonder how did you download the text files without creating an account. You’ll need to use Microsoft Azure to download the dataset.

      1. I am not able to login to my B2C equinor account. So, is it because something is wrong with their website or is it something else?

  3. Hi Ankit, I am trying to login in to the Equinor website to get the uri. But it is impossible I get the error that something went wrong. Please let me know if this the only method to get access to this data. This data is still free? because it is impossible to get access.

    Thanks.

  4. Hi Ankit, I tried to use MS Azure and the URI link to download the Volve oil field data files, but it kept on freezing and did not download. (1) Did you use AzCopy to download the files? (2) How did you download the files? Thank you for your help. Bablo

  5. Error,
    Hi,
when I entere the given URL, getting the error”The SAS is missing a required services (‘ss’) parameter.”
Can you please help me out.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amir

    1. You Can resolve this issue by choosing “Blob Container” instead of “Storage account of service”then “Shared access signature URL (SAS)”

      1. Thank you Mostafa. This solved my problem.
Dear Ankit I suggest you update the instructions to contain this solution. Thank you.

  6. After Downloading the Azure storage explorer and Clicked on “connect to Azure storage ” as described above, select the “Blob Container” option then “Shared access signature URL (SAS)”.
This way you can have access to the data.

  7. Thank you for the guidelines and discussion.

May I know do we need to have subscription to Microsoft Azure for the access to the data? I am concerned if I need to revisit the storage for more data in later time as my project progresses.

    Thank you.

    1. You do not need an Azure subscription to access the data. You can always revisit the storage for more data. I generally advice users to bulk download the files relevant to their work.

    1. I believe your questions is about Log files. You can use the SLB Toolbox to view the files. I am not sure if it would work for mac.

  8. Hello everyone, I’m doing a geothermal model for volve field, however, I’m having difficulty finding a contour map for the field. I already tried to download the data from the website but still no luck. I would be so grateful If anyone has them and would I appreciate it a lot If you can share them with me.

  9. Hi,
Could you please let me know from where I can get the URI to enter in “Blob container or directory SAS URL”?
    Thanks
